Annatto Seeds

Annatto seeds, also known as achiote seeds, are small, reddish-brown seeds harvested from the pods of the Bixa orellana tree. Widely used as a natural coloring and flavoring agent, these seeds impart a vibrant yellow to deep orange hue and a mildly peppery, nutty flavor to foods. Common in Latin American, Caribbean, and Filipino cuisines, annatto seeds are often infused in oil or ground into spice blends.
