Palm Oil is a versatile, widely used vegetable oil derived from the pulp of the fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis). Naturally high in saturated fats, oleic acid, beta-carotene, and vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols), palm oil is prized for its emollient, stabilizing, and conditioning properties in both cosmetic and food formulations.
In skincare and soapmaking, palm oil adds richness, hardness, and a creamy lather to soap bars. It also acts as an effective occlusive agent, helping seal in moisture and protect the skin barrier. It’s commonly used in lotions, creams, lip balms, and body butters.
